Robert Motyka (he/him) is a projection artist and video maker, lecturer, and human rights activist supporting migrants’ rights and the Polish LGBT+ community.
He grew up in Przemyśl, a small Polish town by the border with Ukraine. This location on the peripheries of the European Union plays a pivotal role in his artistic explorations and feeds into his practice.
Robert has been living and creating in Scotland – a place that he now calls his home – since 2007. During his art residency 2022/23 the artist has been working with Marta Adamowicz and the Polish community reconnecting with Polish traditional art and folklore.
